Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has praised defender Shane Ferguson and is delighted by the youngster’s development.
The Magpies boss says that he is pleased with Ferguson’s development and is delighted to see him rise among the club’s ranks.
Losing out a number of key first team regulars, Newcastle have had to resort to their youth academy players as they look to build upon last season’s fifth place finish.

Newcastle recently suffered an embarrassing 0-3 defeat at the hands of Manchester United at home, a team they had comfortably defeated last season.
The Magpies had also lost in an away game to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 earlier in the season, having beaten the Blues in their own backyard in spectacular fashion last season. The club is really struggling to find form, and with the weekend’ s game against Sunderland coming
up, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew is hoping for his side to find their feet and register a win against their fierce local rivals.
The Tyneside outfit failed to make headway in the summer transfer window, signing only http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vurnon-Anita-c36486 and a couple of youngsters. Pardew will however be pleased by some of his youth players having stepped up when they were given the chance.
Ferguson, who has been impressive on the right flank lately, is one such player. The Northern Irishman assisted two of the club’s goals this season, making a sudden impact from the bench. Talking about the player, Pardew said:
"His (Ferguson's) development down that left is going to be a threat for us, whether he's at left-back or left midfield.”

"I've been pleased with him these last few games. When you think about it, it was his deliveries which caused a lot of problems. Fergie, I felt, played well against United," he added. "We only took him off because he was tired."
Newcastle will take on local rivals Sunderland at The Stadium of Light when the Premier League resumes next week.
