Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 and Papiss Demba Cisse for the African Cup of Nations.
Already short staffed when it comes to first team players, the manager is not in an ideal situation. The club’s first choice goalkeeper and Dutch international Tim Krul recently joined the list of injured players. The player received an elbow injury while
training with the Dutch national squad, and has withdrawn from the team.
Newcastle are currently waiting on an update on the player’s situation. Things look grim as a stern and difficult game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 approaches on the weekend.
The likes of Fabricio Coloccini, Ryan Taylor, Cheick Tiote, Haris Vuckic and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Simpson are already out facing injuries of different kinds. Tim Krul’s loss is a fresh blow for the manager, who is under immense pressure to deliver and build upon last seasons’
fifth place finish.
The African Cup of Nations poses another dilemma for Pardew, who could potentially lose star striker duo Demba Ba and Papiss Demba Cisse for the tournament.
United were able to cope without both players last season, but things could be different this time around. With the level of competition in the League at an all time high, Newcastle will struggle without all their key players.
Former Newcastle hero Les Ferdinand shared his thoughts on the situation. The player has enjoyed a successful period with Newcastle, scoring 41 Premier League goals in over two seasons during the 1990s. Speaking to local newspapers, Ferdinand said:
“Losing your two best strikers in the middle of the season would be a nightmare for Alan Pardew. So – no disrespect to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 and qualify next month.”
“It would be a big disappointment for Ba and Cisse, because of course they want to represent their country at a major tournament, but from a purely Newcastle point of view it would be good news.”
“Ba and Cisse were so important to United last season with their goals, and it would be very hard to replace them if they went away on international duty.”
