  1. The best advice is to just really get familiar with the dimensions of the car and how it handle tight turns. Other than that it's pretty much the old addage of practice makes perfect.

Around where I live (knoxville,tn) I've never even heard of anyone getting tested on this at the dmv. So check with a few people who have recently done the test at your location before getting too worried about it.

  2. use your mirrors and picture it in your mind. be aware of the size of your car and watch the curb in your mirror.

  3. dont practice with cones or trash cans.  practice between 2 cars...maybe parents or friends or something.  that way you are really aware of not hitting them.  i was better at learning this way than cones or trashcans cause i knew i could hit them if i needed 2. plus its a real life situation.

  4. Take your time, focus on what you are doing. Pull up next to the car in front of the space (or with your tail next to the cone), put the car in reverse, turn around and turn the wheel to angle your car into the space. It is difficult to describe the rest of it. you just have to feel it. But take your time and focus on what you need to do. Imagine it in your head before you do it over and over. Go watch people parallel park somewhere if possible.

    Good luck.
