Parents with a 17 year old...?

how would you feel about your teenager..?

having her boyfriend (of a year) come over after he works 11pm-7am and going into her bed and going to sleep cuddling her? would you be okay with that? The bedroom door is to remain open, and since it is not overnight is that okay since everyone else is awake?

If I could trust them, then I'd have no problem. If they're gonna have s*x, they'd do it regardless if they're at my house.

17 is almost an adult and I think it's best that they're treated as such.

Yeah, that would not be ok. I thought cuddling was ok when I was a teenager...I had 2 kids by age 18. Cuddling leads to kissing leads to touching leads to humping leads to s*x. It would NOT be ok in my house, no way. She had better be married if she plans on doing any of that.

Not in my house, that's for sure.  Your just giving them an OK to have s*x under your roof.  It doesn't matter if the door is open or not.  Teens are sneaky.

It doesn't matter how good of kids they are.  They are kids.  And I think your just asking for trouble if you allow it.

Surely you don't believe that your daughter or her boyfriend are free from the influence of hormones at seven a.m., do you?  There are stages in life, and seasons of time during which certain things are and are not practical or appropriate.  A seventeen year old girl needs to be maintaining her virtue, purity, and dignity for her wedding night.  And her boyfriend should be helping her to do so....not riding so close to the edge of the cliff that her emotions are going to well up into a raging fire of sexual passion.

Her boyfriend shouldn't be in her bedroom, PERIOD...much less cuddling in bed with her.  After they are married, they'll have their entire lives to lie in each others' arms.  Save some of life's experiences for later on when they will bring joy and fulfillment...at this point, they're only a recipe for disaster.

they dont NEED to. its unnecessary and disrespectful. they can go in the next room or have the dining room to themselves or something.

EDIT: youre in denial. stop making excuses. its your choice but she IS having s*x with him i can promise you. whether u want to believe it or not. and she WILL be pregnant. if not this year then next.

Well,...I know if it was my daughter, first she would be on the pill if she was sexually active or not...

The more I look at this, the more I would need more information. What is his home life like? Does he go to college? How involved is her parents in his life? I mean this question is so vague.

Absolutely not....speaking from experience I can say if this kinda behavior is allowed to continue it will certainly lead to *other things* happening.

If you are OK with him sleeping there, put him on the couch or a cot in another room.

Since the boundary line is already crossed this may not work for your situation though.

my husband and i have s*x on our sides very quietly frequently....if they want to have s*x and im positive they do they will find a way. i hope your ready to raise their babies

Did you know that 52% of teenagers reported that they have had s*x at least once between the ages of 15 and 19? Not saying that your teen is having s*x, but the fact is still there.. Keep in mind though, before you go accusing or pointing fingers, that everyone is sexual being.

Now, I really don't see anything wrong with him staying the night to cuddle. My boyfriend and myself have been dating a little over a week and half short of a year, and we have not had s*x, not that the chance wasn't there. I can see why they want to "sleep together" and cuddle; there is just something about sleeping next to the person you 'love'. I've done it once or twice myself, and I really did appreciate my mom allowing us to do it. It's a way of bonding, I suppose.

I say allow it, but if you're not okay with them having s*x, especially under your roof, you may want to check that with your daughter. Believe me, teenagers can be very, very sneaky. That's just my opinion, though.
