http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749’ s Scott Parker is hopeful that the Three Lions will be able to continue their fine form against Italy, as he hopes to see the country go as far as they possibly can in the contest.
England are on course to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 in the quarter finals on Sunday and a win would see them progress to the semi finals, which in turn would surpass everyone’s expectations from the team.
Parker is more than likely to be a part of the team when they face the Italians, but he is hoping to be able to give it his all.
The midfielder also admitted that he is looking to pair up against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196, as both of them are looking forward to the game more than they ever have in the past.
“For me, this is what it is all about, what I have always wanted,” he told reporters.
“Yes, it has been tough to make progress here, but me and Stevie are relishing it and long may it continue.”
Scott Parker also revealed that he is looking forward to playing against Pirlo as he feels the Italian midfielder is amongst the best in the business.
The Tottenham man knows that he will have his work cut out for him in the game, but is still rather excited about the prospect of facing the Italian playmaker. “I am really looking forward to this,” Parker said over the potential of playing against Pirlo.
“When you play football, you want to pit your wits against the best and play against the best.”
“And obviously Pirlo is one of them. The clips I’ve seen of him this tournament - his passing ability and his control of the game is fantastic.”
“So I’m really looking forward to the game; you look forward to playing against the best.”
Parker and Gerrard will have to be on par with each other in the game, as the two will be looking to void Italy of any space in the middle of the park.
Should the two be able to dictate play in the game, then England could potentially go on and make their way past Italy and into the semi finals.
