Question:

Parking in waterloo?

Is it legal to park overnight at a supermarket or other public parking lot? I bought my car in to help me move out at the end of the term, but I don't want to buy a waterloo university parking pass. Any suggestions to parking as well as answering my question would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

  1. Supermarkets and 'public' parking lots are still private property, and there is no overnight or long-term parking allowed.  Most lots are signed, but some are not.  The by-laws still apply even if not signed.  If your vehicle is noticed to be there overnight it will be tagged and ticketed, and probably towed.  Since you are going to UW or WLU, check to see if there is parking available temporarily at a fellow student's residence on a nearby street.
