Pathology/inquest query?

after the death of someone close we just found out today there is going to be an inquest, i was just wondering why is there an inquest and what happens at one thanx

There IS a more suitable section to post your question--the medical threads!Autopsies are done to determine the cause of an undetermined death.The inquest will go through the results of the tests done at autopsy.People will also be interviewed to give a picture of the deceased's life and activities,frame of mind.

unless the reason for death is an absolute certainty an inquest will take place to confirm the cause of death

they occur if when someone dies they have had a post-mortem and a definite reason for death hasn't been found ..............

ie  natural causes

     suicide

     murder

    

     mis-adventure

     also sometimes they can be due to a natural cause  BUT sometimes there may be a factor of drugs given which usually do not cause death but in a given event may do as this happened with an aunt of mine it was found to be natural causes ............. with the add on that she had been given as antibiotic which had also with much medical/legal reserch had caused the same problem in an other person who died so it went to be added to knowledge of the drug

it isn't something to worry about as they occur many months after the death of a loved one but it can take away any doubts the remaining family have  or had
