Sorry but that food is possibly one of the worst foods that you could feed an animal, it is mostly by-product, corn, and preservatives that are known to harm dogs, they are full of processed c**p that have absolutly no nutrional value what so ever!! animals that eat low quailty foods are more likley to have medical problems, skin irritantions, and allergies. basically anything that can be purchased form a grocery store is the same way your best bet is to go to a petshop.

my favorite dog food (for my dog of course) is solid gold, it is all natural made in the USA, was not on the recall list, it has no fillers, no corn, no by-products, no salt, no sugar, no added animal fat only has the natural fat, no wheat, no soy, this is an all around healthy holistic dog food that leaves your pets coat shiney and heatlhy as well as maintaining the dogs health, Solid Gold is great for pets with allergies, and has all the nutrients that a dog needs, i know the food is some what expensive, but it is deff. worth it, Solid Gold is more expensive because it is healthy, and they use only the best ingredients, the reason why lets say pedigree is cheaper is because they use fillers, like corn which has no nutrutional value to your dog what so ever, so cheaper ingredients = lower nutrional value.

and because solid gold has all the nutrients your pet needs, your dog will actually eat less because he gets fuller faster.

I swear by this dog food, and I know many people who do also, you should really consider trying it, you will not be disappointed, but just make sure when you switch your dog to any different brand that you gradually add in the new food to the old food, by giving them a new food straight could cause severe medical problems. I feed my husky solid gold, once he was off of iams i noticed a lot of differences, he stopped pooping in the house, and didn't have to go as much, his coat got shinnier, and stopped itching, etc

Any food found at the local grocers is going to be inferior nutrition for a dog or puppy. Look for higher quality foods found at pet stores or specialty pet food and feed stores. These are foods whose first ingredients include:

Specifically named meats and meat meals such as chicken, chicken meal, turkey, turkey meal, lamb, lamb meal, duck, duck meal, beef, beef meal, eggs and so on.

Avoid any food who uses the generic term "meat" or "meat by products" or any sort of named byproducts(chicken, lamb, beef, fish, etc...)

Avoid any food that uses corn or a variation there of as its primary source of grain. Dogs don't tend to tolerate corn well and it is considered the source product of many canine food allergies. Glutens, whether corn, wheat or soy are also ingredients to avoid.

Look for grains like rice, oats or barley as the carbohydrate source.

Look for named fats and oils such as chicken fat, herring oil, canola oil, sunflower oil, flax oil etc...

When we adopted our schnauzer from a rescue home, our rescue lady recommended "PMI Excellence Adult Lamb and Rice.  www.pminutrition.com"...  I believe they also have puppy formulas also.  I had to get this at a feed store, a little more expensive, but you don't use as much of it.  She told me that many of the store brands have a lot of filler, but not as much nutrition.  The dogs don't eat as much of the PMI, but it stays with them longer.  (Plus, they don't seem to p**p as often....BONUS!)

Noo! Pedigree is complete c**p.  You need to feed a high protein balanced kibble.  Such as Innova, or Orijen.

Go to http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/ to check if the food you are feeding is good.  Most commercial dog food is filled with grains, and high in fat, which isnt good for a dogs diet. The first three ingredients on the bag are what make up the majority of the food.

I have been feeding my dog Pedigree for 7 yrs now he's 11. he seems to like it and his vet says it's fine.

Yes, you should feed your puppy something else.

Go to your feed store and get something higher end.  

Pedigree is like feeding them McDonalds every day.

Pedigree is pretty much the bottom of the barrel as far as dog food is concerned.  I would recommend switching to a higher quality brand.

If it's a matter of cost/convenience, you can get Solid Gold or Wellness from any local Petco and Blue Buffalo from Petsmart.  The upside to these foods is that, while you seem to spend more up front, you'll feed less and have fewer health problems over time.

If you're interested in going top-of-the-line, there are a number of great foods out there, from Orijen to Canidae.  Check with local specialty stores and don't be afraid to ask questions in person -- their associates are there to help figure out what's best for your puppy!

if you have a toy dog i would go to pet smart and get a bag of whatever the type of dog is they have smaller  ytypesfor smaller dogs and i know that pedigree is good for you but i also know wwhat theyiingredientsare and its not the best  when buying dog food you have to look at the first word if it says meat and then stuff fine but it if says ccerealfat etc. then stay clear its not too good for your dog. take care.
