People who go........?

....... bankrupt!!!

Before you start, yes I know the lenders have something to answer for..... but...... do people who decide to go bankrupt really irritate you??

I work and I live within my means. I don't spend money that I haven't got. If I can't afford it, I save for it. Is this an old fashioned concept?

Its the lenders stacking massive charges for late payments, etc.. that cause people to get into debt in the first place. I have debts that i have probably paid off 3 times over if i was to calculate it up although with the massive interest rates and charges i'm basically going to be paying forever and nothing comes off the total!!! If lenders realised once you got into difficulty that the best option isnt to whack you with massive charges and threatening letters than we wouldn't be in all this credit crisis!!

What annoys me is mis-informed people who judge others without knowing the full story of each individual case. I'm sure some people do claim bankruptcy just to clear themselves with no attempt to pay back what they owe, but you shouldn't assume everyone is doing this!!!

If there were more people like you the wolrd would be a better place. And a lot of things would be more affordable like healthcare. It blows me away that while everyone talks about the "healthcare crisis" no one bothers to examine the impact people declaring  bankruptcy and not paying their bills has on hospitals or any other business for that matter.

The only time it bothers me is when I end up bailing them out. Otherwise, it really doesn't matter.

If a bank is happy to lend money knowing that they might not get it back, then it is the bank's problem. I don't think I should have to give money to the bank to help them continue their risky practices.

If somebody buys a house they cannot afford in the first place, then I think it is right that they lose the house. I don't think it is right that I have to give them money to help them pay for that house.

Dont be so intolerant!

Normally people who go bankrupt are the ones who have failed businesses and use their own money to help the business and end up with no other option other than to declare themselves bankrupt.

People are also victims of the 'credit crunch' where a few years ago they could easily afford their mortgages but not with the hefty rise in interest rates they cant manage.

It's also people who get sick and cant work and cant afford to pay for their credits etc.

Your ideas are good but do you have a mortgage? Do you have a car loan? If you do then you are vulnerable just like the rest of us so get off that high horse and learn a bit of tolerance!
