I am entering a contest this year, and I the prize is a summer trip our of the country. I really hope I win, its a very small contest and my best friend won last year, and is on her trip now. =]

Well, anyways, I was looking online for trips, because I have to know which trip before I go. They all seem very interesting, but I was worried I wouldn't be able to actually meet any English people. Just American kids on the trip with me, you know? So i was wondering, are there any camps you know of that are fun, possibly educational, and have English kids in them? Maybe even hosted by an English summer camp that accepts foreingn kids?

Thanks =]

  1. The UK doesn't really have summer camps, there are camps which last up to 1/2 weeks, but they're more like activity camps - where you can hike, canoe, kayak, rock climb, abseil, surf, swim etc. Any sort of activity, it's basically teaching you about team-work and getting you involved. And the kids/teens who usually go on these in English are actually English anyway, so you wouldn't have to worry about it being full of foreigners.

  2. We don't really have summer camps in England.  Kids stay home in the school vacations and maybe attend day sessions for sports.

  3. some children/teens go on camps for a few weeks called pgl, its more an activity holiday though......
