Period for more than 8 days?

this is the third time it happens to me, the 1st time was almost 20days, the second was about 12-13 and now its the 8 day and it doesn't seem like is ending anytime soon.

Where this happens to me my period come a bit light. Not so much flow. could anyone explain to me why this happens?

I would go to a gynecologist and see what s/he says.  Could be a hormone problem.  Birth control pills can help regulate your cycle, and try an herb store as well.

well sometimes it might be fine but for 20days you should check with your doctor good luck

Since it is only your 3rd time, your period is probably still irregular.  Your period can be irregular for the first year.

I have had this too.  The Dr. ended up putting me on the pill to stop the bleeding and regulate everything.

this is a long time for a period to last. Typical is 3-7 days. Having a long period can result in being anemic, or having a low iron level. Some people do just have longer periods than others, but 20 days is something to speak to your Dr about. Birth control pills can help.

i seriously think you should see a doctor!! especially if it's been 20 days!! this could be a problem not to scare you and i dont know how old you are but my mom bled for 3 months straight once and she had to get a hysterectomy.  good luck...it may be nothing at all but worth checking out def!!

i agree with the first poster. fibroids or cysts on the ovaries. i have the latter and experienced some of what you mentioned as well as missing my period all together some months and then others lasting longer than usual but not as long as you said

Some people are just like that.  It may straighten out on it's own or you may want to consider birth control pills to have a better control.

If you haven't had a pap in a while, that may be a good place to start, as there are some medical conditions that can do it too.

it sounds like your hormones are a little off thats happened to me too. Once i had my period for 26 days! AWFUL! but i went to a homeopathic doctor he gave me some herbs and its never happened again.
