Period issues.........?

This last month has been super stressful for me. A lot of personal stuff has happened and I really let it affect me, I don't get stressed easily....but everything just took a toll on me this month and I cried, I yelled, I was confused I had headaches and then lost 10 pounds, then gained 10 pounds back......I missed my period and am about 6 days late, I'm guessing that the stress made my body not have a period- but I have had 3 PMS symptoms.....my b*****s hurt slightly, I'm sneezing.... and I'm super Tingly down below and have a white discharge (which just started happening 2 days ago) My boyfriend has had a vasectomy, but I took a test which was negative, Pregnancy is not an option for me. I would have to have a medical abortion because of health reasons (Due to an accident I had as a child, but I don't remember it....all I know is that a few years after my mom sat me down and said I would be unable to carry a baby full term according to my doctors)...How does stress affect a period?

Now I'm stressing that I have not gotten my period, which probably is not helping it to arrive.....if anyone has any personal experience of missing a period from stress and could me some details that would be great. I Personally do not believe I am pregnant, I think I would be having many more symptoms and would just "know"..........

Thank you for answers :)

and please no rude responses, I'm stressed to the max as is......

  1. heyy! dont worry! i was scared when my period came late it came about 9 days late. everyones body is different. i dont think it has to do with stress. if you are having white discharge that means your period will come so dont worry! if it doesn't show up see a doctor. thats all.

hope i helped. feel better. no need to stress!

  2. Stress greatly affects periods.  Don't worry that your period is late, it's late because you are stressed.  Go treat yourself to some ice-cream or something and just take a moment to breathe.  However, most importantly, don't freak about the period.  They do this.  Hope life smoothes out for you.

  3. It's true that the stress hormone cortisol can make ovulation be delayed. Also, weight gain and weight loss can mess up your hormone levels too, especially if you are overweight or underweight to begin with.

in future, to avoid scares like this, track your periods on fertilityfriend.com.

also, have you asked for more opinions on your accident? it could be that medicine has changed since the doctors said that back then. it's worth checking out if you do want children.

i'd say that given the stress, the weight loss and gain, and the vasectomy, it is highly unlikely that you're pregnant, and much more likely that your ovulation was delayed. good luck!
