Philips game trouble

Question

I have a philips 19 inch widescreen monitor and when i run a game the screen is blank i can hear sound but no pictures . i can see them in windowed mode and i have also tryed another normal monitor and this worked but i want my wide screen to wprk since i payed for it if you could help that would be great thanks.
