Phone Delays?

When we call to Mexico, there is about a 5-10 second delay between people and us. How can we stop this. Also, since we have satillite phone, how can we stop the interrferrence with the neighboring trees and mountains? Is there a device for this?

There's no way to avoid the 5 to 10 second delay.  This has to be in the phone equipment and there's really no way of knowing if it's in the US or the Mexican equipment.  

There's also no device for preventing the interference from trees and mountains for your satellite phone.  The signals are simply blocked by physical objects.  Well, you could use it from a bare mountain top.
