Phone Insurance question?

lost my blackberry recently, but the phone was shut off because i didnt pay for the service. i had insurance on it but is the insurance shut off once you stop paying for your phone bill.. or does the insurance stay on until you tell the company to take it off..

  1. If the insurance is added to the bill, that you didn't pay, then likely it lapsed.  

    If the insurance was one of those pay once, be covered for a full year, then it doesn't matter that the service was cut off.


  2. Just like any casualty insurance...you don't pay, they don't pay.

    There is no grace period. Your service is shut off, so is the insurance.

  3. I am not sure, but I think if you don't pay your bill and your service is shut off, then your insurance is not valid anymore.

    It might vary from company to company.  The best thing to do is to call your cell phone provider and ask them what you can do to have your phone replaced and if your insurance is still valid.
