Photoshop -- Using Textures?

Question

I'm not all that great with Photoshop as you can tell.

Anyway, all of the textures I find are 100x100. I want to use them on an image that is 700x150 lol

How can I do that? If I try to make the texture big enough it gets all stretched out and ugly looking.

Please help!!

if you choose to use the texture that is 100x100 you're going to loose quality when you enlarge it. This being said I wouldn't recommend using it for a piece that is 700x150. Here's a GREAT link to textures that you can download: http://www.deviantart.com/#catpath=resou...

most are very high quality and you will probably have to shrink them or only use a portion of the texture. Also sxc.hu is a great stock photo website that has many different free textures you can use, however to get the largest version you have to join (its easy, free, and incredibly useful). hope thats some help, give those two sites a shot, otherwise your texture is going to become blurry and loose quality when you enlarge it (to avoid it from getting warped remember to hold "shift" key when you alter the size)

Look up this site about some ideas about texture.  I also suggest trying to make your own texture by applying a pattern.   Select pattern and go from there.  You might need to read about patterns in the Adobe Help Online.
