A 20N brick is placed on top of the block and the block is again moved at a constant velocity.

A.) What is the weight of the system of blocks

B.) What will the normal force become

c.) Will the coefficient of friction change

d.) What will the frictional force become

e.) What will thhe applied force become, to move the block at a constant velocity

Thanks in advance

  1. You didn't tell the wieght of the block that the brick was placed on... And you never supplied the constant velocity?

  2. You'll need to put the first half of the question as well.

  3. a)20N+60N=80N

    b)N=W so N=80N(the system is not moving vertically I assume)

    c)No.this coefficient is realted to the quality of the surface so it won't changing.

    d)

    f=co*N

    in the previous Q you had 15=co*60 so co=15/60

    now you have f=(15/60)*80

    d)the applied force should be the same as friction force because the system is moving without acceleration the total

    force should be zero.(f=ma)

    if you need more help let me know.

    I am waiting for your 20 points :D
