  1. The answer by paramoun is WRONG.  First, the formula she used is wrong.  Second, she did not account for the slope of the fairway.

    The correct answer is d = 213.7 m

  2. Given:

    initial velocity = 48 m/s

    angle = 25

    g = - 9.8 m/s^2  (constant)

    distance along the x axis or range = ?

    then look for the formula in getting range,,so it is..

    R = - initial velocity * sin (2*angle) / g (then substitute the given)

       = (- 48 m/s)^2 sin (2)(45) / - 9.8 m/s^2  (simplify first the numbers

                            after  word "sin")

       = (-48 m/s)^2 sin 90 / -9.8 m/s^2 /-9.8m/s^2  (squarred first 48 (excluding the negative sign) then multiply its product to sin 90..and afterwards affix the negative sign into it)

       = -2304 m^2/s^2 / -9.8 m/s^2  (then simplify.,,)

    R = 235.10 m --------ANSWER
