Pint of irish beer?

whats the average cost of a pint in a typical pub in Eire ( in euros ), im going to cork in a week or two ( no not a stag do) & need to get some euros

About Five Euro. Taxis are also pricey. Bring your cigarettes. Don't try to smoke them in pubs though - it's now illegal to smoke outside of designated zones in Ireland.

Try Murphys stout instead of Guinness in Cork. Its the local brew

I have to point out however that we're not called 'Eire' anymore and haven't been since we became the Republic of Ireland in 1949

'Eire' these days is just a title that appears on postage stamps , passports and bank notes

The term isn't recognised as such as a name for our country/state

Its only really still used by people from Britain

Any way , enjoy your stay and just make sure of 2 things

Kevin C would be about right. If you're in the suburbs you will pay 3.70 euro upwards, for a pint and Cork city itself, we're talking 5 euro average, especially night clubs.
