  1. Why cant you adopt a pit bull? Are they just sent off to a shelter to DIE? They don't even get a chance? That is awful! All dogs should have equal chance! I wish I could adopt one, but they would not get along with my adopted yorkie.I am hoping to adopt another dog soon. hopefully a long haired dachshund from petfinder. good luck adopting a dog.

  2. That angers me.

    That is such bullshit.

A freaking chihuahua will bite. Any dog will bite. It all depends how they are raised. I have one downstairs now, she would never hurt a child. Now if someone tried to break in the house or something she would defend it, but she would never harm a child.

  3. I have a pit mix and wish people were more acceptable of the breed. It used to be popular, until it became the breed used for dog fighting.

Ask them to watch the animal witness about michael vicks case. Maybe you could call them about it.

  4. find another shelter. All of the shelters in my area have pits that are available to adopt. They take a little more work, but they are very intelligent and are just like any other dog. They adapt the attitude used to train them.

  5. pits are one of the most betiful breeds out there.they are very tame and nice dogs as long as u rase them right.if u would like to get a pit go and find some full bred litters. Also make sure u see pics of the mother and father.A pit would be great for ur cousins.get a puppy and let it grow up along side ur cousins.but if ur looking for a really great dog for them to bond with  i suggest a german shepard

  6. im so sorry, for u and especially for the poor puppy.this attitude is wrong, and so very prejudiced.look at the dogs rescued and rehabilitated after facing the brutality of michael vick-many of these dogs have been placed in good homes, and they are not only pits, but former fighting/abused dogs!all i can say is,i had a trained and lovely pit who lived in peace with all who met him, untill he died of old age at 15 years of age.he never hurt or bit any1 or any creature in his life.my mini schnauzer bites!whats next, outlawing my agressive 14 pound pooch?

  7. That is horrible!! That poor little pit ..can you call a rescue centre about  it? It's horrible what people have done to the breed a perfectly beautiful healthy dog has to die because of some lousy owners please call a rescue center in your area and have them rescue her!!

  8. That is messed up!!!!!!!! I think that is sooooo messed up. Pits are some of the nicest dogs on the planet.

  9. Oh my God.... that is TERRIBLE. That is so sad.. it makes me want to cry.

I personally think that is really ****** up. I don't see the difference between racial discrimination and breed discrimination. I feel so bad for all of those poor Pits (and other breeds) affected by BSL. I have never in my life met a mean Pit.

  10. this is why i could never work in a shelter. i would steal every pit bull and take them home. i have a cocker spaniel/sheepdog, she loves kids and gets pissed with me! they lied to you! adopt the pit, insist on it! i hate the fact that people don't understand, and want to kill what they think is a threat. we are the threat to all animals. people fear what they don't understand. period!

  11. Pit bulls are nice dogs. I have one male pit (I named him Blue) before, I got  Blue when he was more than a year old already, he was very gentle. I am not sure where you are located, but I know that there are some states in America that do not abhor to owning pit bulls as pets. Dogs are by nature, loyal, lovable, and trainable companions. All dogs can be pretty aggressive and untouchable when they are raised and taught to be like it by their owners. I sympathize with you. Pits are one of the gentle pets that anybody can have.
