Pl and pd insurance?

ok so my band was on tour and we had gotten into a one car accident and our bassist (the one driving) decided to only get pl and pd when we had thousands of dollars in equipment in the van. and not to mention i had gotten injured pretty bad. am i covered for medical expenses since i was not on the policy? am i considered pl or pd? will my equipment be covered?

  1. Unfortunately, personal liability and property damage really apply to what you do to people if you hit them.

    Medical Payment is the coverage that would apply the driver and passengers in the at-fault vehicle.  Since it is a one car accident there really isn't anyone else to be at fault.  The total limit on this coverage is normally only $1000 - $5000 or it may have been waived entirely.

    Also, as for your instruments you would need to have a form of inland marine policy to cover your musical instruments and equipment.  Unfortunately, auto policies don't cover non-installed equipment in the vehicle.  You MAY be able to claim these items on a homeowners/renters policy.
