Plaxico Burress or Anquan Boldin?

Who is a better fantasy player this year? Burress will probably get more looks but Boldin is playing on a contract year. Who do you think?

Burress does get more looks, but I wonder how good he'll be with Shockey gone, I think he's going to receive a tremendous amount of coverage and won't put up as good #'s as last year.

Boldin loses some looks to Fitz, but I think Kurt Warner is going to be the Cardinals QB, and with Edgerrin James getting older & since the Cardinals don't have any depth at RB, Warner's going to put up huge numbers for both Boldin and Fitzgerald

I agree with you on the contract year, contract years are HUGE incentive. I would definitely go with Boldin

I do not think you can lose with either player.  They are both in the same tier of WRs.  However, Burress is the #1 WR on his team where as Boldin is the #2 WR on his team.  Fitzgerald and Boldin have not done well with Matt Leinart taking the snaps.  They perform better with Kurt Warner.  It is more likely that Leinart will be the starter this year.

Lastly, Boldin does tend to be injury prone.  Burress was injured the entire season since before week 1 and started and finished each and every game.  Buress no longer has the injury and might put up better #s than last year.

I would pick Burress over Boldin on those reasons, but they are still both great picks as a WR2 on your team.

I concur with Kendall. Boldin is the secondary option in the Card's passing game (to Larry Fitzgerald), but they will both be sustained regardless of their QB. But Burress is a no 1 wideout with the champs, but Eli's regular season play has been suspect. Burress is holding out for a new contract, and Boldin tends to be injured with his aggressive, in your face style of play.

Personally I go with Plax, but its a close call here. Boldin has the better QB(s), Burress has the better opportunities because he is the primary option in his team's aerial attack, and they are somewhat thin at WR.

Burress was the only player who could hang with Randy Moss in scoring for the first half of last season.  If it wasn't for an ankle injury he could have been the #2 receiver in the league.

Boldin is a great receiver but he is very unpredictable and has shown that he can't stay healthy or play through injury like Plaxico can.

I like Boldin myself. Burress is a fine WR but Boldin is better.
