PlayStation 3 Hackers? Please Help

Question

I am looking to buy a console, either Xbox 360 or PS3 and I am edging towards a PlayStation, but someone keeps telling me about the PlayStations lack of security and that they have hackers which Sony can't stop... is this true? Has anyone experienced being hacked on PS3?

(p.s. not that it matters, I live in England, UK)

PS3 itself is a very protected thing. It uses software + hardware (Hypervisor). As for servers - Sony servers were hacked not too long ago, they must enhance their servers protection.

No. There's no hackers for the PS3. Lack of security is a lie. They are equally safe, and even if they aren't, there's nothing they can get from you. Worst thing a PS3 can get is adware (I think) which won't execute correctly on a PS3, even with Linux.

its impossible for the PS3 to be hacked. even the best hackers cant hack the PS3...

you wont have to worry about the PS3 being hacked...

No, those are not true, there are no Ps3 hackers and security for Ps3 is good and strong actually.

Don't buy Xbox 360 because it sux, you will get a Red Ring of light after a few months playing it lol.

And Ps3 is a very powerful system and reliable.

I have no clue what "hackers" people are talking about. I've had a PS3 since it came out and been playing it online since I got it. There are no "hackers". No clue what these people are talking about. Unless they are talking about people figuring out glitches for games online or there was this hack on Call of Duty 4 where people could download this CPU program and edit their COD4 game save to make their online clan tag weird things or change the color of their name with a flash drive. But otherwise no hackers
