Playoff push (Baseball)

Question

Some smuck dropped Conor Jackson in my league and i was able to snag him off the wire. I had crazy injuries at the beginning of the year and got into a points hole, I've since managed to put together a good team. 10 team HXH league. I think i need to trade for some pitching talent but am not good at coming up with fair batter for pitcher offers.

My team looks like this, i need a SP and/or SS. I stand in 5th place only 8.5 pts back from first. Should I try to deal one of 1b?

C- Soto

1b- Adrian Gonzalez, C Jackson!

2B- Philips- got him for Reynalds

3B- A Rod

SS- Hardy or TULO (grrr)

OF- Sizemore, Quentin, Granderson, Dejesus, Church (DL)

SP- Verlanader, Lackey, Haren, Danks, Josh Johnson

RP- Cordero, Hoffman, Sherril, Gregg, Broxton

As you can see I've been very active with the wire and have mined some gems. I was thinking about going out and getting a stud SP. Who do I pursue with solid 2nd half numbers? Deadline looms!!

I would definatley look for a guy like Ricky Nolasco or Anibal Sanchez...Both Marlins pitchers...Also your SS are fine Tulo is a stud and Hardy has been hitting like crazy late...You could trade one of those two with Conner Jackson for a stud...Your pitching seems solid with Lacky Haren and Danks...If i i were you i would try and get a guy who could steal some bases such as Willy Taveras...You have a ton of power but not a lot of speed.

try and get jon lester or daisuke matsuzaka.  jon lester has 10 wns 3 loses and matsuzaka has 11 wins 2 losses. if you can get one of those two your good  to go. if not try joe blanton. get a good pitcher no one really hears about so you can easily pick him up.if you need a short stop get jed loweri he is doing a great job he got 4 RBI's in the last 2 games

Here are some sure fire suggestions to move up quick.First lets address the offense.Trade JJHardy while he has value.This guy is streakyer than a 75 year old womans depends.He is already in an 0 for 22 slump.Tulo is batting 400 since coming back.Hardy is killing your teams batting average.Im also trading or dumping Dejesus.As far as pitching is concerned Verlander,Hoffman and Sherril are killing your ERA and WHIP.With that said your trade bait would be Connor, Hardy,Dejesus,Verlander and Sherrill.Known second half stud pitchers every year are Johan Santana,Zombrano and CC Sabathia.Good luck and remember your offense is very deep.I wouldnt be scarred to package some of your offensive players with pitchers to get the fantasy stud you need.I really like Rich Harden on the Cubs.He has the best K ratio in the bigs.
