If i connect it to a standard definition TV, will it still be able to play Blu-ray?(i know it wont be in HD obviously!)

Yes, you can play Blu-ray movies on a standard definition TV. It just won't have the picture and sound quality as it would if it was played on a HD TV. Basically the picture and sound quality of a Blu-ray disc played on a standard definition TV is the same as a normal standard DVD disc, like the ones you rent out in video store.

Of course, I mean, it's the PS3 and not the TV that's playing Blu-Ray, so why shouldn't the PS3 NOT play Blu-ray?

And the definition is compatible.

yeah you can still do that, but sony say's that the graphics are much better on a hd tv. Ps3 rocks

Your PS3 will work with blu-ray discs no matter what the TV

Yes it will. I didn't have HDTV when i first bought my ps3, and it works fine with Blu-ray games/movies.
