  1. This question thread sounds like a freakin' advertisement for Bose.

One word: Overpriced.  Bose systems are for people that want quality systems, and don't know anything about audio to get their own, better system.  So they pay $$$$.  I do not know about the quality of the speakers they sell separately, but I'd assume it'd fall in the same category.

Also that first guy doesn't know what he's talking about.

PS3 supports 7.1 via HDMI, and 5.1 via optical.

The best surround sound receivers are from Onkyo, Denon, or Yamaha.  If you buy a receiver from them, and then a separate pair of speakers from a good manufacturer, it'll last a long time.  I mean, you could go with a HTIB from one of those companies, and you won't be sorry about the quality, but separate speakers are always better.  It'll also cost more though.

  2. Get Bose, Atul.....One choice, one word BOSE....The Sony is no more good and the sound quality degrades in few months and there are no such home theaters in India that's good enough to deliver you the sound effect. PlayStation 3 supports 5.1 Surround.

  3. I bought a  Bose® Acoustimass® 16 Series II  Home theater speaker system!! and it rocks also I got an Onkyo TXSR805S Home Theater Receiver   that was insane with the PS3!!  You can go up to 7.1 with the PS3 too!!  I bought all of mine through crutchfield .com  if you decide to buy from there will you let me know?  We can both make money on our account like 50 dollars each just for a referral thanx!
