Please explain Diamond Girdle???

Is it good to be thin or Medium/Slightly Thick or Slightly Thick/Thick?? I don't know if it's better to be thin or thick? Does it really make a difference??

  2. I was told by my jeweler to go with Medium/Slightly Thick. Too thin of a girdle means the prongs may not have enough surface to properly 'grip' the diamond, resulting in the possibility of the diamond falling out. Too thick of girdle means there is too much diamond weight spent in the girdle area, resulting in an inferior cut. Basically, you're paying for more weight while getting a less perfect cut (a bad combo).
