modern buildings has changing the appearance of cities and towns.some people argue we should build all buildings in traditional styles to protect the cultural identity.to what extent do you agree or disagree.

When a group feels that their culture is being threatened by the culture of another group architecture is often one device the threatened group uses to keep its identity in the community. The threatening group in turn attempts to use architecture to push its new identity on the community.

sections in town of particular historic significance should be preserved and protected in the interest of cultural heritage, but that shouldn't take priority over improvements and advancements for the overall good of the public.....

It's kinda funny, but of course the historic buildings should be preserved but new buildings should be modern.  Consider: in decades to come the modern buildings of today will become the traditional/ historic buildings to be preserved.  Maybe.
