Please help made a mistake?

I have this really anoying assistant teacher at my karate class. She is 16 and thinks she is the sh*t because she is testing for blackbelt. She always treats me like I am 8, I am 13 and she never lets me talk to my friends. She is sooo anoying, so well I lied I said she hit me when she didn't so she would get in trouble she is sensei's favorite and never does pushups. While she makes me do them evry class. Well there was a different teacher and he made her do lots of pushups,(200) she was crying by the end. i guess I feel bad and she didn't even rat me out or well i didn't get in trouble. Now she completly ignores me and won't even say hello. i feel bad what should I do?

Well, let this be a lesson to you. It's nice to see that you have a personal feeling of remorse having not gotten busted for your lie yet. That shows that you're starting to mature.

You should go and apologize to her in private, before or after class; and then you should tell your main instructor what happened since they were not there and they most likely heard from the guest instructor, about the class, and her getting in trouble. If you see the guest instructor again you should apologize for your lie to him.

When you talk to your Sempai, after you apologize, you should explain to her why you did it. DON'T ARGUE WITH HER, no matter what she says. Just explain that you felt she treated you like a little child and that you don't think she respected you and you got frustrated.

Think of some social situations as a match. When some one directs a negative attitude towards you, your defense should be not  to react with the same negative attitude. by being positive and understanding you become a better person and so will the other person who annoys you; this is the true martial way. The fact that you felt bad for her at one point shows that you have what it takes to become a compassionate warrior. Be good and the bad will disappear.

Perhaps you should apologize and tell her you were wrong to do what you did but you were so angry at her for her picking on you.  You should also tell her that you have learned from your mistakes and that you would like to be her friend if that is OK with her.   In some ways I think you have learned one of life's lessons in that when you do or say something it does have an affect and you have to be willing to live with it so it is best to think things through an maybe not react to certain impulses like that.  If I reacted to every person that cut me off in driving and beat the heck out of them I would have a very miserable life and probably be in jail.  Most but not all adults learn that by reacting to certain things impulsively-especially if it is inappropriate in nature you often regret it afterwords.

Hello well right now you and I are not exactly friends. But I hope to be friends. I am not going to tell you what to do. You have tons of answers about that.I will jump in The role of a sempai is to make sure students are doing what they are soposed to when they are soposed to and correct them if needed. As for your age when there is over 10 students the base my guess of age on behavior, because for a 16 year old brownbelt it is hard enought to remember 28 names let alone ages or at least it is for me. Act your age and you will be treated that way. You as an older student are expected to set an example for the younger students. We have a strict no talking rule in our dojo (saw your question in martial arts) I did not make this rule up. I know I may seem hard on you at times but that is because I believe you have potential. All I want to see is effort. You mention that I don't do pushups that is because I try and follow the rules. Good luck . Just so you know pay back is not on my mind.

First I am glad that you at least realize that you made a mistake and your conciance is bothering you. Best bet is to fess up and accept the punishment. I do not think they will kick you out, because admiting you screwed up and accepting responsibility for it is a sign that you are on the right path, and your instructor should see this.

As for her behavior: If you were talking without permission during our class you would be doing push ups also. A major part of Martial arts is discipline, and if that is a class rule it should be enforced. Maybe sahe doesn't do push ups as punishment because she follows the rules and does what she is supposed to. I do not consider that being a suck up, I consider that being a good student.

I do commend you for wanting to set things right.

First, apologize to her, and make amends. Then apologize to the teacher who punished her and accept punishment. Then apologize to the teacher you lied to and accept punishment.

We all make mistakes, and we either grow or wither with each one. Be strong, willing to accept your punishment for your disgraceful behavior with dignity no matter what it is (this means no argument -- they kick you out, you leave without complaint; they make you do 400 pushups, then you do them without a sound), and be willing to learn from the mistakes you make.

Perhaps too she will see this as her wake-up call, and you can move past your differences and be buyu.

Apologize for lying. Let the other teacher know in front of her and own your mistake. It may not make her your friend, yet it is for your self esteem to do this. If you don't it is on your conscience.  She may be a primadonna yet she is in charge for the time being. Show her the respect you would want and than some. You will be the better for it I promise. You will know the color of her metal by the way she receives your apology. What ever it is continue to show respect. It is for you at this point and your growth in character.

You should not be talking during class, and should be focused on the instructor intently for the whole class. I don't allow talking in my classes. If I see you talking after I have asked you to stop it is 20 push ups the first time 20 more each time, and they are after class. If I get really mean I make students write papers on the importance of the particular class we are in. I frequently have students run part of a class and I always demand that they receive the same respect I demand for myself and other SIfu on the floor.

It is not about personality or who is write or wrong.. You leave all that ego stuff at the door of the Dojo.
