Please help me explain this quote???

Question

When we do more than we are paid to do, eventually we will be paid more for what we do.

I need some help on explaning this quote in a page or so and so far

I have about a half page, I was wondering if anyone have any unique personal experience or anything that I could add to it!

If I can recall, I have seen Jim Rohn and Napoleon Hill make this statement.  It means to take the initiative and go that extra mile to be of service.  According to Jim Rohn, being of service to others aligns you for greatness, be it wealth or happiness.

There is a bible verse that says ''that which a man sows he shall also reap'' so like your quote, the seeds you sow or doing something for no known reward will come back later and reward you in another way you can't even imagine. This goes for bad deeds and good deeds. Some people call it fate, some call it creating your own Karma.

I am a nurse and I often do 'extras' for a patient thinking they don't notice, they don't say thanks, and no one pays me extra. But then later on they send a letter to the hospital thanking me by name for all the extras i did and how it helped them get well. This benefits me in my human resources file, whereas if they had just said thanks at the time, no one would have known. So there is an example.

well for me it may have some religious connotations, such as if we do more than what is expected of us from people on earth God will reward us ten times moreover when we get to heaven, like the parable of the woman giving all she had in the offering plate even though it was less than the wealthy people. It is easier to fit a camel through the eye of a needle then to get a rich man into heaven

A "job" is an opportunity to provide more value for an employer than it costs to maintain you in the position. If you demonstrate that you provide MORE value, there is no risk in promoting you or paying you more to keep you motivated.

when you are doing a job and do extra work, your boss finds out and maybe pays you extra (aka- overtime) so everything gets evened out and you don't do work for free.
