Given that :

[(x+2)/2x^2-1)] - [(24x+6)/(x+2)] = (5-12x)

and [(x+2)/(2x^2-1)] = y ,

show that : y^2-5y+6 = 0 .

sorry, i dont feel like doing the work,but heres how you would do it:

solve for x in the first problem, plug it in to the second one, then put all variables and numbers on one side of the = sign ao it equals zero, and you should get y^2-5y+6 = 0

make sure you remember the order of operations!
