Please help me with my story?

hi. i need some help with thinking of a story. i have a main idea but i have many gaps which im hoping for suggestions to get filled out.

there are two sides facing each other in war.

in this way i dont know whether to make it areas or different types of people. when i say different types of people i mean like magicians against people without magic, etc.

or

two sides are facing because one rules over another

e.g. magicians ruling over people without magic

and what happens is during this time there is this girl. she is a strong girl, but yet young. maybe around 14 years of age. she has experienced a horrid past with the opposing country/team/etc. her whole family died in a sudden rampage by their side. her mother, father, and brother fought in war. however they considered her too young and kept her inside. however she secretly walked onto the battlefeild to see that her family was ok. and during that time she lost both of her legs.

her legs couldnt be recovered from a severe injury. so instead she rides on this wolf-like creature whom she saved before the sudden rampage. the wolf-like creature owes its life to her and therefore allows her to ride on it. its her protector in a sense.

as she grows up she still relives these nightmares in the nighttime. how her mother, brother, and father died in the battlefeild...how she lost her legs..etc. and later she decides her nightmares wont perceive on falling apart until she avenges her family's death. so she decides to join the army.

in the army there are several stations. men normally occupy the swordfighting side. and women occupy the ___ side...healing side, etc. thats how the way of soceity accepted it. however this girl wants to be in the side where men join in. she wants to be out in the battle...fighting.

and its about her story ++ how she has to live up against society's denial to her acceptance into the army. (she was too good to not be accepted and they had no other choice)

So she has to have the adventure, defeat the leader of the other side's leader, and live up in a different way than what society says.

it seems like i know a decent amount but i have no idea what happens in the adventure XD and its not comin to me! hoping you can give some suggestions?

its more of the medieval-ish type of stories > like Eragon and Narnia. any magical creatures accepted and some made up by me.

would be MUCH appreciated if could give ideas. Also if I'm allowed to give points to others (new to this) will give 5-10 points for helpers. if not then HUGGGEEE thanks.

;) serious brain blockage. but i really want to start it! its the type of story for me - tomboyish , believe girls can do as much as boys, etc. if you know what i mean. i feel very passionate about it.

Your story is very different. Different, but I love it. The fact that the main character has a disability that would normally destroy any soldier, yet she still manages to accomplish what most people can't, is amazing. Don't apologize for it being so long; I've read and written longer.

Okay. First, I would suggest you think about the armies and why they are opposing each other. I don't think you should do magic users vs. non-magic users. The battle would be too easily won by the magicians. Instead, have a large, evil empire ruled by a cruel dictator. The dictator wants to rule over the good people, enforce taxes, enslave them, blah blah blah. The bad, tragic junk. While this is happening, the main character is contently living her life.

    Then the family death incident occurs. The main character loses her legs. I like the idea of the wolf creature. The way I first pictured this creature was a large, white-furred wolf. But anyways, I think there should be some form of communication between the main character and her wolf guardian. Unfortunately, the idea of telepathic communication has already been used by Christopher Paolini in Eragon and Eldest, so rule it out. Maybe the wolf can talk? Or can just understand human speech? Something like that.

    When she decides to join the army, I think the army officials should laugh at her. After all, she is a woman *and* she is handicapped. She can't fight, right? Wrong. Her and her guardian exceed all expectations. The army officials are flabbergasted. They have no choice but to let her in the army. She is too good of a soldier.

    After a short series of training, word arrives that the evil dictator is gathering for a second attack on the good people's land. They good people need to move to a defense. The army officials have a special job for the main character: she needs to infiltrate the dictator's castle and assassinate him before he can make a move.

    And so the journey begins. But will she travel alone? No! Her wolf guardian and some more accomplices must join her on this dangerous trek. So, she marches to the dictator's kingdom, battles the king. And in the end, her wolf friend is slain. Since the dictator is dead, she doesn't have to worry anymore. But the wolf is still, not moving, and she falls unconscious.

    When she wakes up, she realizes that the wolf friend has been miraculously rescued. The end.

To-Do List:

1. Invent a name for the good kingdom.

2. Invent a name for the bad kingdom.

3. What is the name of the evil dictator?

4. Why would the bad kingdom hate the good kingdom?

5. Bad kingdom attacks, etc etc.

6. Years pass while main character copes with incessant nightmares.

7. Main character joins army, proves to officials how worthy she is.

8. Main character undergoes training.

9. Dictator about to invade kingdom.

10. Main character, wolf, and 1-3 other friends venture on a journey to the bad kingdom.

11. Main character gets lost in bad castle, fights dictator, wins, saves the day.
