About 2 years ago my cat had a urinary blockage. It almost killed him. The vet performed a surgery however his diet completely changed. He can only eat urinary tract healthy wet and dry food to keep crystals from forming again. I feed him some in the morning and some at night. I don't know the exact measurements but our other cat eats the same amount and is fine. However he seems to never get full. Ever! He is always meowing for more food, and its like he is yelling at us that he is starving. My parents (whom we live with right now) will keep feeding him and feeding him sometimes when I am not home just to get him to shut up, which I know its making it harder on him plus it is hurting his digestive system. My parents will never listen to me about that...how do I make him stop? Is there an appetite suppressant that will keep him full throughout the day until he actually needs more food. Why is he obsessed with food? help.

  1. Go to the vet. He may have a thyroid condition. Or tape worms. I wouldn't fool around with it.

  2. I think your vet doctor needs to check out what's wrong with cat's digestion. Sometimes, in a stomach, there's something wrong like a worm inside your cat's stomach. Are you buying the right food? Is it America food? If you bought food and it says it's from China, then you're giving your cat the wrong food. It's very unhealthy for your cat. Everyone should know about the China pet's food is unsafe. Or, your cat is just trying to get your attention or something hurts on the body or inside. I suggested you should take your cat to the vet again. It's the only thing I could think of.

  3. well, my cat actually had the same problem a while ago.   we feed him three times.  once in the morning, once in the evening, and then at around midnight so he sleeps through the night.  he used to get like your cat.  all hungry and meowing.  but we just put him outside or just ignored him.  eventually he just started to calm down.  it's been about a year.  i suggest letting your parents know that feeding him isn't the best solution.

i don't know about an appetite suppressant.

  4. You've got to get your parents to stop feeding him when he begs for food.

They are rewarding bad behavior, which is making things worse.

In a similar situation, I had to hide the cat food from the people who were feeding my cats when I was not home.
