Plexi-Glass Terrarium?

I found this HUGE Plexi-Glass Tank that would just need a Custom Made Screen Top or something.. It's probably 2'Hx3'Wx6'L. So like what? 100 Gallons or something? Could I use this to House my Ball Python? Could I still put Under-the-Tank Heaters on it? Not too familiar with Plex. She's gonna' need a New Tank soon anyways.

  1. finger l*****g good.

  2. ball pythons really don't need that much space at all. since they don't need to hunt for their food, (if you have the snake in that tank, you will definaly want to feed it in a smaller, seperate enclosure) then the tank size won't hurt it really, but it's hard to keep the heat balanced in something that large, and since ball pythons don't really move around a lot, you might get frustrated you spent a lot of money to buy something the snake doesn't use.

however, if you actually FOUND the tank, as oppsoed to buying it, then good for you, its a pretty good find. again, your snake won't be harmed by such a big space, as long as it's full grown. (a baby snake will probably get intimidated and stressed in that much space)

if you did find it, make sure you clean it out THOUGHOL|Y with a light bleach soulution, and then clean the residue bleach out just as throughly. since plexi is a plastic instead of glass, you can't just wipe it off, the plastic will absorb and capture germs it comes in contact with.

  3. i think the bigger the better. would you want to be in a cell your hull life? didnt think so. you are doing great. i build my reptiles walk in rooms. i would be carefull with all heat source though it might melt.i would line where ever the heat source goes with something like tin foil to help keep the plexi glass from melting. plex glass melts down at low temps. so be watch full touch it where the heat is to see if it is breaking down, godd luck!

  4. ball pythons do not need a big cage but if you want to buy it then it will be fine i made a custom cage for by burmese python and it was huge.  never had any problems with it.  you can just use heat lamps but as always make sure the humidity is good that is very important.
