  1. We use boiling water. One person holds the two feet and dunks the whole bird for a few seconds and another is ready to wipe off as many feathers as possible before the slow painstaking plucking begins. Pin feathers are not my favorite.

  2. Hot water and a lot of work This is one animal I would rather buy at the store. Or skin it and bread it.

  3. I plucked one when I lived overseas. You get some warm water, not quite hot, and dip a side of the chicken in and then start plucking fast. You don't want to cook the chicken, so you have to really be fast about plucking it out. Then when it gets a bit cool, you have to dip in the skin and pluck that area. Know what I mean? Its hard the first couple of times. Then make sure you cook it right away if its your first bird, because its too tough to make sure you get hte water dipping to plucking ratio down pat w/o cooking it.

  4. Mongo has the correct idea. To remove the pinfeathers, singe with a wide angle blowtorch by moving the bird quickly past the torch.
