Is it okay to go to a plus one party alone? Everyone that has RSVP is taking someone, but i'm the only one who has responded as going alone. I've never really had a relationship, just flings, and I don't know if it's okay to go by myself...anything will help lol

Thanks in advance

  1. [Edit: in regards to what your host said- If she doesn't want you taking just a friend, it seems silly to force yourself into a relationship just for the party, and I don't think this is what the host is trying to do (unless it's some kind of elaborate device to get you a boyfriend), so I guess it's up to you if you feel okay going alone, or if you would be happier just not going]

It depends on how you feel about it. I personally wouldn't really have a problem with the idea, but it depends on how well you know the other people at the party (are you going to have some friends there?), would you feel awkward being the only one without a date, and how would you feel if later on in the evening, people start getting a little 'couply', and wandering off to find their own corners. I think it also depends on how the invitation is phrased. You and a partner is often just giving people an option.

The other thing that you could consider, if you don't feel comfortable going by yourself is asking a friend of the opposite gender (or even the same gender if you make it clear to your host they are a friend and you are not coming out of the closet) to come with you so you have some company & 'moral support'.

If you do decide to go by yourself, just make sure you let your host know when you RSVP.

  2. ok look

if i was me i would never go cause i would fell really shy but ok thats you

if you are ok by gonig alone then GO!

  3. just go, enjoy yourself and stop worrying what other people think.. :D

  4. well..I'll go with you.....but anyway...if it is a RSVP....I suggest you do not attend..ok...will not like it...unless..you know for sure that somebody that you know and get along with pretty good is there already when you arrive...for otherwise you gonna find yourself all alone and gonna feel like a sore tumb.
