Pointe shoes?

What do people mean by saying "drying" pointe shoes, what is there to dry?THAnks

so they break in faster and they will be more comfortable

Basically drying the sweat out. Drying them out makes them last longer and stops them smelling (so much).

When you dance your shoes absorb the sweat from your feet and when you don't allow them to dry they usually don't last as long.

This could also refer to breaking the shoes in considering the sweat and heat allows the shoes to become better fitted to your feet over time.
