Pokemon pearl help!!!! Amulet coin!?

Ok i know im dumb to this game but how do you make a pokemon hold the amulet coin i see it when i dress my pokemon up but how do u make a pokemon hold it?

just give it to your pokemonto hold it

click the item click give and put it on yo pokemon

u have to give it to them from ur bag... i dont think u can give it to them for dress up

u go to the bag then u go to the items  and look 4 amulet coin then press a and it will say give just press a on the pokemon u want 2 hold it and done
