Is there a solution to Gold and Silver versions losing the Continue option ?

Unfortunately, if your Pokemon Gold version or Pokemon Silver version previously had a "continue" option and then you turned it back on and it was gone, there is no way that you can get your game save file back.  It is still unknown as to what causes this problem, but it may have something to do with the game's internal battery running dry.

Sorry buddy!  The only solution to this problem is to start a new game.
