Pokerstars deposit question?

I live in Canada. I’ve finally decided after playing years of play money to finally deposit some money onto Pokerstars. I read under the “Real Money” section on pokerstars.com that an option to deposit money onto the site was a Visa Gift Card. So over the weekend, I bought a fifty dollar My Treat, Visa Gift Card. However, once I opened the the package there was a section under online purchases that read “you may not use your card at online gambling sites.” What does this mean? Does this section mean that it’s impossible to deposit money with this card or is it just not advisable for me to use it for such reasons. The PokerStars site lists it as a payment option, yet Visa does not accept its use in gambling sites.!? Thanks!

Some cards are blocked from being used on online gaming sites although they bare the logo that says it is acceptable.  I have numberous Visa cards and only a few work on them.  I have had to go and buy prepaid VISA cards in order for them to work.  You may try it and it might reject.

As far as I know its okay to deposit money. This messges are just to scare away some people, but its absolutely okay to deposit into sites

Most credit cards won't allow their cards to be used for gambling deposits and it will get declined if you try.  You can use their echeck option.  That works really well.

Deposit with epassporte, there is a button on the Poker stars deposit section. There is a fee, but you should be able to use the card. Register the card first on line. That will save a lot of troubles. Good luck at the tables.

the reason is that these cards are available to people under 18 years of age and they have no way of veryfying your age through use of that cared...keep your money anyhow pstars is as all online poker sites is trash..

Some credit card companies put filters on their cards that limits transactions to gambling sites.  This is true for a lot of prepaid cards.  In the States, one of the few gift cards that will work is the Visa All Access Gift Card.  I'm not sure if it's available in Canada.  What you can do is activate your card, if you haven't already and use your current card to buy another.  The only thing you'll be out of is the card fee.  For a better explanation and PokerStars bonus code, check http://dagus-statistics.com/funding.htm  Hope this helps.
