Recently I was at a party that was busted due to underage drinking, drugs etc. The police ordered everyone out on the streets and home which we all did. However, I was still without my shoes so I waited around hoping to get them back. The police officer continued to yell telling me to shut up and go home. However, I am well old enough (18) to be out until any time of night wherever I want. The police has no power to send me home if I am simply standing on a public street minding my own business waiting. He decides to throw me in his cruiser and scream at me until finally giving me a $180 ticket for disobeying the police. Is he right to do this? What I was doing (not listening) was unjust surely and I know I was pushing his patience. However, I was in no way breaking any law. My (mandatory) court date is coming up. Is it worth trying to fight it? I simply believe he was trying to prove a point and show his overated authority and in doing so gave me a bull ticket... Any suggestions
