Death Note is much more original and a lot better in my opinion because mainly of its originality. Code Geass is just a bunch of series put together so it lacks originality. The art of combining elements from different series has already been used several times for other shows as well, so when I watch Code Geass, none of the events surprises me.

Death Note did go hard and all but I have to give it to Code Geass.

Don't get me wrong I love both shows and all, but code geass is a combination of all anime shows in one. The plot is wicked, the characters are hot, the show is completely awesome I mean have you watched season 2 or the end of season 1! Death Note was really good and I will always love it but Code Geass takes that.
