  1. As long as he is playing at his best Punter will continue and I expect him to lead the team to victory in 2011WC and than to decide to continue playing ODI's are not.

  2. 417 by Tendulkar. it looks like to me tendulkar wont be playing too much more ODIs if the young current Indian team performs extraodinarily well. Anyway Ponting will get to 400 ODIs for sure

  3. Ponting may be going through a bad spell, and how can you blame him with all the c**p hes had to endure this  year, but he will come good. And I see him getting another 100 or so ODIs under his belt before the make him obsolete.

  4. 417 sachin

  5. Well Done Ricky Ponting

You deserve it, but keep playing Australia will need now more than ever.

  6. Well if Sachin has played 417 One Day matches,i dont see why Ricky Can't keep on playing for another 3-4 years..Yes Ricky is going through a slump in form, but who has'nt..Ricky ios still a great player and one of the best captains in the world..I would be wrapt if he can go on for a few more years yet...

  7. Last count it was tendoukar with 417 odis played

in all reality punter wont pass sachin but i believe he will be around for a couple more years yet

  8. He is 33 or 34 years old. He can be around for another 3 to 4years easily. He is fit do not get injured like Sachin and he is playing fine. He is little out of form but that's fine he will regain form soon and will score heavily for Australia.

  9. Punter will be round for a bit yet,no worries. But whether he passes Sachins record is debatable

  10. The most ODI's played by an individual player is

Sachin Tendulkar who has played 417 ODI's. In that time he has scored over 16,000 runs at an average of over 44.

It depends on Ponting's form and desire, besides the 100 in the 1st test match in the West Indies, Ponting hasnt scored many runs against an average West Indian attack. Now Ponting is a great player BUT he can only be given a certain amount of time to regain his form, before he is actually letting his team down with his lack of runs. IF Ponting has a bad tour of India, then maybe just maybe he could be dropped for the Australian summer. I would love to see Ponting go on for another 2 or 3 years and maybe retire in the 2010/11 Ashes series

  11. Yes Tendulkar is the most at 417 but I think Ponting will easily play this many ODI's, It will take alot and I mean alot of constant bad performances to have ponting taken out of the Australian team, and as long as they keep winning what is the trouble
