  1. bbq burgers but cut them in half, that way the kids won't waste as much. hot wings or chicken tenders are always a crowd pleaser as well and super quick to throw together.

a fun idea would be to have an area set up inside where they can make their own sundaes. anything hands on and creative will make all of them excited and make your party memorable!

  2. Pool, food, 30 kids.  Sounds like they will have fun without any planned games.  Play fairly loud music in the background. I found a bunch of pool toys at Dollar Tree - the long noodles and water guns.  The little $1.00 "water basketball" hoop was not worth the dollar, though. Little water-toy footballs, etc.  I'd stay away from the water balloons - they may clog up the drain and you'd be picking up the broken ones all day. Have a LARGE beach ball to toss around the pool.

Try to find some little bathtub duckies (I found only one package at Dollar Tree which had 6 ducks in the party favor aisle) but if you had a bunch of them, you could put numbers on the bottoms of them and float them all over the pool and give away prizes based on the numbers, or have duck races where they have to move the duck along without touching it - just splashing, etc.

Food - you're right you don't want a bunch of trash left over.  How about BBQ chicken nuggets without bones, popsicles, ice cream, watermelon (ooooo - seed spitting contest in the driveway), sno-cones?  Chips & dip.  Hot dogs.

  3. Howdy JoAnna, my food ideas for you would be.....

    Mini hotdogs

    Chicken tenders

    Mini burgers

    French fries

Fruit salad(try taking a survey before the party)(what's everyones favorite fruit?)

And for games, you could try........

    Twister

    A board game

    Uno

Try to hold a contest(make sure the winner gets a prize!)

Miss.JoAnna, try having fun with the kids, ok? Well, good luck, hope I helped!

  4. Why not have hotdogs- they are cheap and not too messy. Also, serve things like chips, dip, veggie tray, and fruit tray. Definitely stay away from anything that is individually wrapped- its more messy as you mentioned, and more expensive! As for drinks, either use those Solo brand plastic cups and label each one with the kids names in permanent marker to cut down on waste, or buy the smaller water bottles (they're called half pints) and the smaller sodas/juice boxes. As far as games, you can do all sorts of stuff. You can play beach ball tag where someone is out of the pool and tries to hit a player who is in the pool with the ball. If you get hit, you're out. After 5 people are out, you increase the number of ball throwers to 2. Another game you can do is hide all sorts of beach/pool items around the yard and give the guests a list of the items that they have to find. Whoever finds the most wins a prize. I would divide them into teams since there are so many kids. Finally, why not just play water volleyball? Everyone usually loves that. You can get a net at places like Sports Authority or a pool supply store.
