Can anyone tell me when shooting pool if the white (cue) ball is hit into the pocket how does the table "know" that it's the cue ball and not one of the other balls? It send it back out for play again instead of keeping it in the shoot thing. Anyone have a clue?

  1. It depends on the table.  Some like dynamo have bigger cue balls but they are horrible to play with.  Most other tables have a magnet in the ball return and the cue ball has metal inside.  And diamond smart tables that use Aramith red cirlcle cue balls are the same size and weight as the 1-15 have a lazer system inside the table to detect with cueball.

  2. The cue ball is a slightly different size than the other balls so it drops out of the rails into the cue ball return. It's a pretty ingenious way for the table to know the difference.

  3. It has either a weighted center or it is slightly larger than the object balls

  4. They're magnetic on the new tables,on the old ones they're  bigger or heavier.
