Poor Michigan Wolverines...?

Question

...No longer mighty now that they've lost arguably two of the best players they've ever had. A lost to Utah, another non-BCS school, when will Michigan dominate again?

All that loss to Utah proved was that a team needs more than a clever scheme to win a game - it also needs talented players to execute the scheme.  Michigan doesn't have the talent this year to run Rich Rod's scheme.  

I was actually surprised that the game ended up as close as it did.  Michigan played pretty terribly for all but about 4 minutes of that game and still only lost by 2 points.  I would expect most of their games this year to go the same way.

"Poor" is, probably, a poor choice of terms for a private school that can make it's team semi-pro by tweaking admissions...

Michigan will be mediocre by their standards for the next 3-4 yrs. I think they will be a 8 win team- and make it to second or third tier bowls (kind of like Nebraska the last few years). Once they get used to a different system and start recruiting players that are fit to that system they'll be back to Rose Bowl contenders. It is going to be a tough couple years though in Ann Arbor.

By the time,michgan gets back to the dominate stauts we are used to,its going to be 2+yrs great there goes me wereing any michgan apperal seeing how they wont be what the fans are used to

This is a rebuilding year for them. They lost so many starters from last year (Henne, Hart, Long, Manningham, and Arrington just to name a few). They'll be back to dominating in 2 or 3 years, but this year will be ugly. I think they'll have no more than 5 wins this year, and OSU will give them a pretty bad beating.

Everyone pretty much knew Michigan was going to loose despite being favored by 3.  They just don't have the players that rich rod needs to run that offense.  So it will take a little bit time before they dominate again.  Just give the a year or 2 to recruit the players he needs and they will be alright.  This season will be pretty ugly I will not be surprised if they don't bowl game.  They lost way to many players.  Just be patient and they will be good again.  

Ohio State will KILL Michigan this year.

Michigan deserves a bad season. Win they lose they fire people put blame on the team and when they win they act like they're the best. They need to wake up and stop blaming and being cocky about being good.

Michigan will get slaughtered by Ohio State and probably beaten badly by Illinois and Wisconsin. I'll bet if they have a losing season the coach gets fired.

I see Michigan becing good again in 2011 or 2012. They'll lose to Ohio State for at least two more years, and lose to Penn State this year and in 2010. But as far as this year goes, I see Ohio State winning 38-14 and Penn State beating them 27-7.

Its tough to say, they have lost their WR Manningham... Now the upcoming freshmans and experienced players need to step up their game.. they have a roster with a talent to win.. but can they use the talent is the real question..
