Poping sound

Question

i have a pc with K7t266 pro motherboard in it... for some reason it stopped working....when I plugged the power cable in it made a loud pop sound with the smell of buring it in...i noticed that there wasno more power t the board....I am thinking the power suplly unit is damaged but I am scared if the action may have damaged the motherboard too....

Please advice..if it's only the PSU ican change it quicky if it's the board then waoooooo am in trouble...
