How can I cook pork steak?

brought it b/c store didnt have anymore steak and it looked good

I never made it before give me some good home made recipes...

can I broil it and if so how long does it need to be in the oven...

  1. I make em on the grill all the time so the broiler should work as well cook em about 4 minutes a side. I like BBQ sauce on them

How long your steak should be under the broiler depends on how well done you want it and the thickness of the cut of meat.  I'd try doing it over charcoal on the ol' outdoor grill, myself.  An inch thick steak or chop should take from nine to twelve minutes on a side over moderate heat.  The fellow who only lets his cook for four minutes on a side will have nearly raw meat or his fire is so hot it burns the outside and leaves the inside raw.  Yuck! When the first side is done and you turn it, spoon two tablespoons full of apple butter on top - apple butter, not apple sauce - and let it finish cooking that way.  Serve with the apple butter on top or on the side - man, that's good pork!

  3. Blade steaks are best when they have been marinated.  :)  Grilling will get you the best result (in my opinion).  5-7 minutes each side.  Or you can broil them 4 inches away from heat source for about the same amount of time.  :)  Here are a few marinade ideas:

    Honey-Soy

    Ing:

    2 cloves small garlic, minced

    2 tablespoons finely

    chopped onion

    2 tablespoon lemon juice

    2 tablespoon soy sauce

    1 tablespoon honey

    Teriyaki

    Ing:

    2 tablespoons soy sauce

    1 tablespoon sherry or white wine

    2 tablespoons molasses

    1 1/2 teaspoons ginger, grated

    1 garlic clove, minced

    1 pinch black pepper, fresh ground

    Combine all ingredients of chosen marinade with blade steaks in a self-sealing plastic bag; seal bag and place in refrigerator 4-24 hours. Remove steaks from marinade, discarding marinade.

    I would go with fried or mashed potatoes & some corn-on-the-cob or peas w/garlic for sides!
