Portable DVD player in hospital?

im going into hospital for a while and was wondering if you could take a portable DVD player in with you to pass the time?

yes, a person i was in hospital with had one, great to pass the time. Plus don't use the hospitals, phone/tv service, they are a major rip off.

as the other person said, take the headphones, because my friend couldn't sleep so often watched late into the night

Provided you have headphones. If other patients can hear it you will be asked to turn it off.

I can't imagine why not, obviously take headphones in so as not to disturb the other patients...
