Portable DVD player v. Laptop computer?

What's the benefit of having a portable DVD player if you already have a laptop? Any pros and cons? Thanks.

If you have a laptop already, there is no reason to buy a portable dvd player. Your laptop probably has a better screen than most portable DVD players anyway. The only reason to buy a portable dvd player is if you don't want your kids messing around with your expensive laptop. Portable dvd players are cheap.(you can get a decent one for around $150)
